Key benefits of VELUX pleated window blinds

Convenient light control VELUX pleated blinds let you take full control of the amount of lighting entering the room, whether you want a bright, airy feel or a more intimate, darker atmosphere. The slim profile design also lets you enjoy increased daylight when the blind is not in use.
Added privacy Just like our other blinds, our pleated window blinds offer privacy in spaces like bedrooms and bathrooms, where it is highly valued. With our translucent fabric option, you can also allow natural light to filter through without compromising your privacy.
Energy-efficiency VELUX Blackout energy pleated blinds help improve your home's energy efficiency by providing an extra layer of insulation. During the winter months, they help keep the warmth inside to help you keep a comfortable temperature in spaces like the bedroom or living room.

Customisable options VELUX pleated window blinds are designed to go hand in hand with your individual interior style. You can adjust the colour to make the blind fit seamlessly with your space.
Easy installation and operation It is quick and easy to install your VELUX pleated blind due to the click-in pre-fitted brackets. With both manual and remotely operated options available, our pleated window blinds are a convenient option for homeowners who value simplicity and practicality.
A safe choice All VELUX blinds feature a cordless design for enhanced safety, making them a child-friendly choice. Furthermore, all our interior blinds are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and STeP certified for peace of mind.

Choose how you prefer to operate

You can operate our pleated window blinds in different ways, allowing you to choose the most convenient and practical solution for your home:
Solar-powered pleated blinds
Solar-powered pleated blinds are powered by solar energy through a small panel installed at the back of the blind. Making them ideal for spaces where wiring may be difficult or costly. The solar panel charges the integrated battery during the day, allowing for easy operation, via the wireless wall switch or VELUX App Control, without the need for an external power source. These blinds are perfectly integrated in manual or solar-powered roof windows. Use the blinds any way you want; manually via the patented on-product operation slider, remotely or automatically. And control your blinds from anywhere – or across the room using the VELUX App Control.

Electric pleated blinds
Just like our solar-powered pleated blinds, the electric option lets you easily operate the pleated blind remotely from anywhere inside your home or when you’re out and about, thanks to the multiple remote-control options. They can also be operated manually via the patented on-product operation slider. Electric pleated blinds are ideal for electric roof windows. They just click onto the electric brackets already installed in the window. No wiring needed.

Manual pleated blinds
A flying design lets you position the blind exactly where it is needed in the window while still letting light in. Adjust the blind from both the top and the bottom of the roof window to let in exactly the right amount of light.

Frequently asked questions about VELUX pleated blinds

What are pleated blinds?

Pleated blinds feature a distinctive folded design made from a single fabric surface, which resembles a concertina. This gives the blinds a sleek, modern look and allows for smooth and easy operation when adjusting the amount of light entering a room. When fully extended, pleated blinds provide full coverage, but when pulled up, they fold neatly into pleats, taking up very little space.

Which styles of pleated blinds exist?

Different styles of pleated blinds are available, such as cellular blinds/honeycomb blinds, which are known for their unique construction pattern, which looks rather like a honeycomb, and delivers a thermal effect for increased insulation. You can also find pleated blinds for your flat roof window. Furthermore, you can choose between translucent and blackout blinds, depending on the amount of natural light you want.

Are pleated blinds any good?

Pleated blinds are a great option as they offer excellent light control and privacy. This also makes them well-suited for bedrooms, living rooms, and home offices. Plus, their energy-efficient design helps insulate rooms, keeping them warmer in winter.
